ServicesSeasonal residences

Seasonal residences, opened and closed properly

A house opened as if it had never been closed, and closed so it is ready for next year.

Six weeks before you arrive

An opening is a countdown. Move the slider, or watch the house wake up on its own.

A house waking up, week by week, before the family arrives

6 weeks

The plan is written: dates, guests, the staff and the suppliers booked, deliveries scheduled.

Where most houses start

  • The house was closed in a hurry at the end of last season.
  • Each season starts with a week of small problems: a boiler, a missing key, damp linen.
  • A new villa has to be ready, and you will first see it on the day you arrive.

What we do

We open the house before you arrive, as if it had never been closed: rooms aired, systems checked, linen pressed, provisions in, flowers on the table. At the end of the season we close it with the same care, so the next one starts well.

For a new villa or chalet, we prepare everything before the first arrival: the staff, the suppliers, the inventory and the House Book.

What is included

  • Opening and closing checklists, room by room
  • Staff and suppliers booked for the season
  • Arrivals prepared: provisions, flowers, linen, cars
  • New villas made ready before the first arrival
  • Winter chalets and summer houses

How it works

How we work, in detail
  1. Dates and wishes

Arrival and departure dates, who is coming, and how the family likes to find the house.

  2. The opening list

A written list for every room, checked by one of us before you arrive.

  3. The season

Staff and suppliers booked, arrivals prepared, the house kept while you are there.

  4. The closing

Room by room: linen, silver and wine counted, systems set for the empty months, a written report.

It is for you if

  • You live in the house for a few weeks or months a year.
  • You have a summer house on the lakes or the coast, or a winter chalet in the mountains.
  • You have bought a new house and want it ready the first time you walk in.
  • You want the house checked while it stands empty.

It is not for you if

  • The house is let to guests between your stays: holiday letting is a different trade.
  • You only need a clean before you arrive: a local cleaning company is enough.
  • You want the house opened at a day's notice each time: a season works when it is planned.

Questions families ask

How long before our arrival do you need?

For a house we already know, about two weeks. For a first opening or a new house, allow four to six weeks, because staff and suppliers have to be booked.

Do you check the house while it is empty?

Yes, on a rhythm agreed with you, and after storms, frost or long power cuts. Every visit is written down.

Can you find seasonal staff for us?

Not as a service: we do not run staff searches. We define the roles with you, so that you can brief an agency precisely, and once the people are hired we hand the House Book over to them, so everyone works from the same pages. The family employs the staff, and we help set up the contracts properly.

What do you check when you close a house?

Every room, against a written list: linen washed and stored, silver and wine counted, food cleared, water, heating and alarms set for the empty months, every key accounted for.

How is the fee set?

Seasonal work is a fixed package for the opening, the season and the closing, quoted once we know the house and the dates.
